Our beloved Randy Dollar recently passed on February 23, 2020. He is now free of pain and suffering he endured just in the last few years. Randy was a wonderful Husband, Father and Papa who touched the lives of those around him. Randy married Glenda Renee Brimer Dollar of Ocoee, Florida on April 23, 1976. They were able to celebrate 43 years of marriage prior to his death. He is survived by his two children, Michael Alan Dollar and Amanda Renee Dollar Williams and her Husband Mark Anthony Williams. Four grandchildren Ashlyn Renee Williams, Alyssa Paige Williams, Emily Rosalee Dollar and Alexandra Reese Williams.
Randy dedicated his life to the Fire Department prior to being diagnosed with Multiple sclerosis. Randy was appointed to the City of Winter Garden Fire Department in November of 1974 as a Fire Inspector. He rose through the ranks from a Fire Inspector, Firefighter, Lieutenant, and then Captain. In 1984 he was a Division Commander, promoted to Assistant Chief in 1985, and was appointed to the position of Fire Chief in July 1994, a position he held until his retirement. Randy retired in January 2002 after more than 27 years of service to the Department and to the City of Winter Garden. He was very passionate about the Fire Department, everything it involved and helping others.
We are all devastated by Randy’s loss and were not prepared for the high cost of a service. We want to give Randy the Celebration of life he deserves, to honor his memory and say our last goodbyes.
To pay tribute to Randy and his courageous medical battle, in lieu of flowers the family humbly asks that you consider donating to help with end-of-life expenses. Flowers are welcome but not necessary.
