My name is Stephan Showstark, and I would like to raise awareness and funds to fight the injustices of the family court. My goal is to stop these injustices; to shine a light from the media on these critical areas that impact and harm so many families. This deterioration of our court system has damaged the fabric of our society and our respect for one another.


I hope to prevent this kind of injustice from occurring to families in the future through education, judicial policy reform and media coverage.

I am one of many people facing these injustices right now. Susan, my wife and partner of 21 years, underwent three brain cancer surgeries over the time span of 12 months. She was taken out of the hospital by other members of her family without me knowing, and placed in a care facility. I was denied the ability to see my wife. These same family members later divorced her from me 31 days after she was taken (and 66 days after her last surgery to relieve paralysis) The divorce hearing had no medical testimony, and I was not present, an act that failed to demonstrate judicial integrity to its fullest. The divorce took my rights away and prohibited me from ever seeing her again, or being by her side when she passed away. The divorce also gave my wife’s children the entire inheritance of her will. They robbed me of the last few months of my wife’s life to make a profit off of her death.



My goals are to assist families by creating a centralized and catalogued record of abuses by attorneys, judges and district courts of appeals. This recordkeeping system will also provide support regarding elder and medical issues in relation to the court.

I hope to then lobby for judicial law that requires medical testimony and the presence of a spouse/significant other in a case of this magnitude where there are brain injuries and other demonstrable, medical incompetency exhibited issues in testimony. Judicial integrity and intellectual and ethical curiosity were not afforded us. I hope to protect people from unscrupulous attorneys and judges, but I cannot do this without your help.

To accomplish these goals, I am raising money to fund fees, consultants and other expenses that come along with this kind of legal campaign. Please consider donating to my campaign.

I in no way wish to profit from your donations, but will use the money to fight these injustices from occurring in the future. This type of exploitation by lawyers and family members of sick or elderly people must be stopped. Please join me in my efforts to bring an end to the abuse of people from the lawyers and judges of the family courts. Many people have been abused by opportunistic members of this group. Together we can stop them.
