Show the Victoria Police Force We Care

Hi friends,

Our local Victoria news is filled with the stories of how our police forces (Victoria and Saanich) have been under enormous strain lately. Assaults on officers are happening far too frequently in the city, and officers jobs have been changed in many difficult and disheartening ways.

I'd like to start a Go Fund Me today to buy each officer a cup of coffee, in the form of a $5 gift card. A quick Google search tells me there are 241 officers on the Victoria force, 165 officers in Saanich. My goal is to raise $2000 for this mission.

Whether you're pro-police, or angry at the police, indifferent, or maybe something in-between, I just encourage the perspective that they are all human beings working tirelessly in one of our most stressful occupations, who could really use a vote of support from the community.

And my lovely friends, please, this is not political!

I'm very much in support of BLM, and in support of seeing change and reconciliation from the police to our Indigenous people from the treatment they've traditionally received. It's not an either/or situation, both sides need love.

Today, in light of recent events, the local police forces could use some community support.
