Short Film Fundraising Campaign

Donation protected
Hello! My name is Jasmin Prophete, and I've started this campaign to fund my first short film, Leo Lets It Rain!

What It's About: Leo, a queer Black man with undiagnosed ADHD, is on his way to win back his ex-girlfriend when his plans are thwarted by a storm, forcing him to reevaluate.

Screenplay Awards Won: The script was a Winner at Out On Film, a Finalist at Nashville Fim Festival, and an Official Selection at New York Lift-Off Film Festival.

What The Project Means To Me: This script is inspired by my own experience living with ADHD before I was diagnosed. As a screenwriter, I have never had the opportunity to see what my work looks like when it's produced, which I consider crucial to my development as an artist. This film represents an opportunity for me to change that, in addition to being a calling card I'll be able to use to further my career.

Why It's Important: Because most research on ADHD is conducted on young white boys, it is often missed in both POC and people assigned female at birth. I want to tell this story to spread awareness to the mental health struggles that often go unnoticed among people within this demographic.

How Funds Will Be Used: Paying for location and equipment rentals, as well as compensating our cast and crew.

Where The Project Stands Now: We are set to film over Memorial Day Weekend, May 24-27.

Meet The Team:
Writer/Director - Jasmin Prophete
Cinematographer - Maggie Brill
Executive Producers - Marie Alyse Rodriguez and Edgar Rosa
Producers: Guy-Paul Delisfort and Jacob Augustin

Thank you so much for engaging and reading this far! Any form of support is greatly appreciated. We will be sure to thank all contributors in the film credits.
