Shoresh Preschool Playground Renovation
Donation protected
Shoresh preschool strives to connect children to their community and the natural world, while nurturing each child's social, emotional, physical and cognitive development in a safe and caring environment of exploration, cooperation and creativity. Funds raised will go toward the improvement of our outdoor playspace. So far we have worked with contractors to extend the fence by ten feet, add an awning which will provide shade from the direct sunlight and many other exciting additions. The objective of the space will be a pathway to nature where your children will become little explorers. Attached, please find a wishlist of some of the items for which future funds have been earmarked. The outdoor classroom will be a backdrop for rich, sensory learning experiences for our children. The goal is for it to be built over the next several months in phases so that will allow the children use of the playground.
This outdoor playspace will have multiple purposes, from strengthening physical coordination on tree stump steps to embracing inner artists and experimenting with musical instruments.
Learning in an outdoor classroom happens through both directed and self-directed activities. With thoughtful planning, the learning areas facilitate state and federal curriculum standards at various ages.
Many of you have expressed interest in assisting with this project and we greatly appreciate your generosity. Donations made specifically for the outdoor classroom and playspace will allow us to build on an extremely generous contribution already made by
the Ammerman/Shpigel Family.
Thanks so much for your help!!!!
