Shore Up The Starks

William Stark is a hard-working, loving father, like many in our community, but what sets him apart are the unique needs of his family. Will leads a household with 7 special needs dependents who count on him to provide basic necessities and constant, on-going medical care. One medically-fragile child requires multiple devices to help him breathe and monitor his heart rate.  Each hour, Will alternates using a portable AC unit in his son’s room with the life-saving equipment because the draw on electrical system cannot support both.

The daily struggles and challenges the Stark family faces put a strain on their household appliances and on their finances. This summer, the 31-year-old AC unit died. It was patched but needs replacing. The dishwasher that served this family of 9 no longer functions. The washer and dryer are just barely hanging on and cannot keep up with the needs of this extra special family.

Will works full-time for a non-profit organization that serves adults with disabilities in the community, but it is not enough to keep up with the Stark’s abundant needs including home repairs and medical bills.  

By raising a mere $9,000, we can 'shore up' or support this family by funding the purchase of a new AC unit (something we all know is vital in the Georgia heat), a new dishwasher, and a new washer and dryer.
