Hello, my name is Shirley and I've been diagnosed with Aggressive T-Cell Lymphoma on May 16th of this year. I didn't know how to start a page, but here's my story.
I came into the hospital with shortness of breath and tingling in my feet. The doctor told me that if I had waited until Friday, I would have been dead by Monday. So, I stayed in the hospital from May 7th until June 6th and was then released. I had to return every 3 weeks for chemotherapy and 3 times a week for blood and platelet infusions from June 6th until September 5th.
After my 3rd chemotherapy infusion, I was told I was cancer-free, but after my 6th chemotherapy, I was told it was back. So now, I've been receiving blood and platelets since then until I had to do a second round of chemotherapy from the end of October through November. Now, I'm still going to the hospital 3 times a week, sometimes there from 6 am until 6 pm, receiving treatments of blood and platelets or bone marrow biopsies.
I'm scheduled for the stem cell transplant on January 15th, and my son will be my donor. Until then, that's my story. I will let you guys know what happens after the transplant is done.
