Sherri's Medical Fund
As many of you know, my mother, Sherri, was diagnosed with Stage IV metastatic breast cancer in 2018 after being in remission for nearly 15 years. She takes oral chemotherapy 21 days a month and goes in for an IV infusion every other week. The lasting effects chemo has had on her body is numerous, but one of the most difficult responses has been an attack on her muscular system. My mother is has faced complex rotator cuff repair on both shoulders, took a bad fall on memorial day, and has had an in office procedure to help drain a spot on her hip related to the fall. She has had multiple CT's and MRI's, and recently had a nuclear bone scan. Based on the results of her bone scan, which warrented further investigation, she is having to have PET scan done today, 12.28.2020. Any and all expenses collected through this page will go directly for medical care, bills, and unforseen expenses related to her illness.

At the beginning of 2021, God gave me the word SURRENDER to be my word of the year. I had absolutely no idea what this meant at the time, but here we are not even 2 weeks into the new year and it’s clear as day.
As most of you know, my mama has been fighting the cancer monster for nearly 4 years (this round!). She’s had countless MRIs, CT scans, daily oral chemotherapy, monthly injections, monthly blood work, and more doctor visits than I can remember. For the most part, her cancer has been manageable - confined mainly to her spine. About a month ago, She had a WBBS and it revealed *possible* cancer activity in her shoulder - you know, the one that was recently operated on.
Fast forward - insurance FINALLY approved a PET scan (if you know, you know!) and we received those results yesterday. Unfortunately, moms cancer continues to spread regardless of treatment thus far. There are new spots in her femur, right hip, left hip, rib cage and spine. To say we were devastated would be an understatement. Things will look different now. Mom will be having surgery next week to have a port placed to begin IV chemotherapy - which she will get every 2 weeks. The effectiveness of this chemo is only 40% - so please pray our warrior falls within that percentage.
We’re unsure of the future. At times it’s overwhelming and scary - but we hold fast that even when we don’t understand, HE does. He has a plan. And we fully SURRENDER our will to His!
