Shepler Park Redesign

Donation protected

For more than 15 years, the Lawton Enhancement Trust Authority (LETA) has been the driving force to beautify and enhance the appearance of our city. And now, we have an opportunity to further that mission through the Shepler Park renovation.

Imagine spending your Saturday morning at the newly constructed Lawton Farmers’ Market but sticking around a little longer to adore the art along a walking path or sitting down with a book in the reading nook. Shepler Park will also feature two new performance stages, a seating area, an event lawn, a water feature, an innovative play area made entirely from landforms, and so much more!

Because public input was a must for this project, the Shepler Park Redesign Steering Group was formed in November 2021. The committee consisted of representatives from Arts for All, the Lawton Farmers’ Market, the YMCA, LETA, Lawton Public Schools, and Women that Vote. After several meetings, this group of Shepler Park patrons identified what functionalities this space lacked and worked with an engineering consultant to draft a design concept. The final design concept was approved unanimously by LETA and Lawton City Council in July 2022.

LETA continues to put in the work to make this dream a reality, but we need your help! With a price tag of $1.8 million, Shepler Park promises to be a spectacular gathering place for all events. Donations are welcome from all individuals, businesses, and organizations; any amount is greatly appreciated to reach our goal! Thank you for caring and investing in our community!
