Support Shattered Family

Donation protected
My campaign is a request to help a U.S.  citizen, high school student, Tania.  Her family was shattered when both of her parents were deported to El Salvador.  Her mother, Ana, took care of my grandmother for several years and was one of the kindest women I've ever known.

This is their story:
Ana and Julio left war ravaged El Salvador in 1996 to make a better life for their family. They came to the U.S. and applied for assylum in Atlanta.  In 1998, their request for assylum was denied.

However, they were given permission to work in the U.S. and dutifully reported to immigration each year. They paid lawyers to help them secure their Green Cards over the course of 20 years.  Many times they believed that they would soon get their permanent residency. They waited patiently throughout the process and continued to receive authorization to stay and work in the U.S.  Julio and Ana worked tirelessly and had no criminal record.  They paid taxes,  contributed to the U.S. economy and registered every year.

On June 13, 2017 they reported together to ICE as they were instructed to do.   ICE took them into custody and they were immediately sent to a detention center in Irwin County, Georgia. The detention center is 3.5 hours away from their home in Atlanta.   Julio was deported June 29th to El Salvador.   Ana was held in the detention center for five months and was deported November 17, 2017.

Their daughter, Tania,  has one year left of high school.  She will need help paying rent, utilities and buying food, gas and necessities until she graduates at the end of May 2018. The stress of losing both her parents has been overwhelming for Tania.  I want to help her so that she can focus on her studies and not worry about covering her expenses each month.  Tania's sister, Daniela, is covered by DACA and she is working full-time on an assembly line.  She does not earn enough to support herself and her sister.

Anything that you can give would be greatly appreciated. It will be a difficult holiday season for both of the daughters and I hope that my campaign will show them that there are many people who want to help them through this terrible time.

Thank you very much for reading about this family. They truly gave their best effort to become citizens.  I would like Ana and Julio to see that there are many people who want the best for their daughters.  I am forever thankful to Ana for the amazing care and love she gave to my grandmother.   And now I need to help take care of her daughters.  Would you please consider helping too?
