Hi,
My name Is George Ballard Jr. and I would like to reach out to everyone about a hardship that has befallen my parents over the last six months.
In November of 2014 my mother, Sharon Ballard under went her 3rd spinal fusion in 9 years, this surgery was to correct her back and neck so she could live a normal life without pain everyday. They completed the fusion up to the T4 vertebrae. It was a success and she was home for Thanksgiving. However, unbeknownst to her she had a staff infection where the incision was and had to be re-operated on December 6th to clean out the infection.
Due to unforeseen circumstances she had to go back in for emergency surgery to do another fusion to the T1 vertebrae, which corrected the issue but unfortunately there was sever bruising to her spinal cord which has left her paralyzed.
She just recently has come home after 5 months in a healthcare facility but the costs while she was away, along with modifications that had to be done to the house to make it accessible and functional for her have been extreme.
She requires full time care from CNA's and RN's that will be very expensive. This has really caused an economic hardship on my parents and is financially draining.
I am seeking financial help for my parents to deal with these costs. Any donation anyone can make would be greatly appreciated and would help them out.
I just want my parents , especially my mother to be able to get better and at the very least enjoy her life and not succumb to this financial burden.
