Shared Parenting Efforts 2023

Here we are...again! Fighting for all NY children and families. This effort never sleeps and in this 2023 session, we are on a roll. For the first time, we have a "SAME AS" bill in both senate and the house with the three major components of family law reform. Our small team has been meeting with reps since early fall 2022 in preparation for this bill, we have formed many new relationships and as a result, have earned respect in Albany.

Together we can push for these next 18 months to pass this bill! But we need help. So far this year we have printed new policy briefs, rely heavily on our website, drive to meetings and events to be front-facing with our reps, and are planning on a few more trips to Albany for Shared parenting lobbying and Parental alienation day. All these tasks require funding. Funding comes out of our pockets and although NYFFT is membership-based, we do not require dues as a condition of joining.

Any amount given will greatly help the reform efforts. Our team uses personal PTO and days off to travel to Albany to lobby for shared parenting and other much-needed changes to family law. Our team are hard-working people who wish only to secure a brighter future for our children and their children.
