Shaqurra’s Tragedy, A’Marie’s Hope

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Shaqurra. On June 28, 2022 my life was forever changed. While driving home from my mother’s house, my car stalled in the middle of the Broken Arrow Expressway. I felt very unsafe as cars were barely swerving away from hitting my vehicle during a time of high traffic volumes. I am a new mother to a beautiful 4 month old daughter. All I thought was that I had to get my baby girl out of this dangerous situation. Unable to move my car, I decided to turn around and unbuckle her carseat so that we could escape to the expressway’s shoulder while awaiting my mother’s arrival. At this point, I was twisted around from the drivers seat just about to pick up A’Marie’s carseat, while on speaker phone with my mother. I was telling her how frightening our position was and that I feared getting hit. This is the moment my life forever changed. This is the moment where I feared for my newborns life as a first time mother. This is the moment I would not walk away from. I am forever paralyzed from the waist down. I will never walk again. I will never be able to be independent. I will never be able to properly care for my daughter on my own. As depressing as this devastating journey is, I tell myself everyday that I must stay positive and keep going. Not necessarily for myself, but for my amazing little girl who has so much future ahead of her. She is a true miracle that yielded no after effects of the wreck. God reached out from the heavens to wedge her car seat perfectly between the passenger front seat and backseat keeping her perfectly safe from the wreckage. I may not be able to walk, be independent, or solely take care of my child, but I will be able to see her grow and flourish into the amazing woman that I know she is destined to be. Because I’m not giving up. I’m not going to let my new disability define my quality of life. I will be strong and continue to fight through the pain and depression every single day, because that’s what my daughter deserves. I come to you, my family, my friends, my community, for support. They say it takes a village, and that is exactly what I am in need of. Please donate whatever you can to help me move and setup a home for my family so that we can live as normal of a life as possible. Although ours won’t be normal, it can still be worthy and enjoyable. Especially with an angel like A’Marie who has been touched by a miraculous God. I will walk again in Jesus mighty name.
