Shannon M, Equestrian Accident
Spende geschützt
On April 2nd, Shannon McCracken, self-employed Diplomaed Applied Equine Podiatrist (DAEP), was knocked over and stepped on by a horse. She sustained a badly broken arm as well as extensive scalp damage that required 60 stitches. She is also scheduled for reconstructive plastic surgery. Shannon will be unable to work for months, in order for her injuries to heal.

Not only does this accident place her in financial hardship to cover routine bills during this period, it also means that she will be unable to provide any foot/hoof care services to her many equine clients. Spring weather presents the ideal environment for infections to develop and is, therefore, a crucial time for Shannon to be available to provide her expertise to owners and their horses [Shannon is the only DAEP in Canada at this time]. With the hope of retaining the loyalty of her clients during her recovery, Shannon is investigating the possibility of hiring a DAEP colleague for approx 7-10 days. This does however involve travel expenses, etc that she currently can not afford without assistance.
