Shakiyah Mone' always thinking...always creating...! From the time Shakiyah was 3 yrs old, she had a love for creating stories and scenes with her Bratz dolls. She knew at 13 she wanted to write and she did, alot, creating poems, cards and books, and she loved interviewing anyone that would agree to an interview. Through Shakiyah's struggles with insecurities, she realized she wanted the world to hear more positive stories and see positive images. She found and used digital platforms to connect with diverse young girls and women who had similar struggles yet encouraged and uplifted one another.

"The Voice Within" by Christina Aguilera blared from Shakiyah's room often. So, Shakiyah struggled with many fears and she did that alone. Being a child of dual military parents, she isolated herself during so many changes...through 9 schools and 12 moves. She graduated from the International School of Duesseldorf in Germany, took a gap year and travelled throughout Australia through a work and travel program. Then completed her journalism degree from Essex University in Colchester, England. Shakiyah was living in Wuhan, China as the epidemic developed. She has an incredible story in China, she was taken by China authorities and locked in a hotel in Shanghai for several months until she was deemed clear of COVID. Now residing in Vancouver BC, Shakiyah studied digital media broadcasting and completed her masters degree with the same goal...to write. Shakiyah is proud to say that she was raised mostly by her Memom and that is who helped her to find her voice.
