Spende geschützt
We would like to introduce our beautiful niece, Shadae Lindsay. Shadae lives in Port Antonio, Portland Jamaica W.I. She is an intelligent, happy, vibrant, nine-year-old little girl, who loves learning new things, singing, dancing, and playing with her dolls and doggies. We desire that Shadae continues to thrive to adulthood and live out her God-given potential.
However, life can be unfair. Shadae has been diagnosed with a devastating, rare blood disorder, that prevents her bone marrow from producing life-sustaining blood cells. Her life is at risk!
There is NO treatment for her disease anywhere within Jamaica or other Caribbean islands. For the past three months, Shadae has been hospitalized at the Bustamante Children’s Hospital in Kingston, Jamaica and is only being sustained by blood transfusions several times a week. Sweet Shadae has remained so brave throughout her illness, yet understandably, the weight of the emotional toll and stress on her parents has been a heavy burden to bear.
Treatment for Shadae was sought after in the United States (US), and graciously and benevolently, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, Maryland has accepted Shadae into a research clinical trial with the goal of treating her serious medical condition. Additionally, Shadae and her mother will be provided housing at The Children’s Inn at NIH. An answer to prayer!
Shadae and her mother’s stay in the US will result in expenses that her parents cannot afford. They currently have limited financial resources with limited ability for ongoing financial sustenance. The NIH informs that their basic living expenses while in the US should be estimated anywhere from $600 - $800 per month. This can include but is not limited to food, clothing, transportation, cell phone and other related personal expenses.
The NIH has requested Shadae arrive in the US on March 13, 2023, to begin treatment. The NIH anticipates a minimum stay of 6 (six) months and potentially up to 1 (one) year or more, depending on how Shadae responds to treatment, including subsequent recurring trips back to the US for checkups and additional treatment as needed.
To help cover expenses for Shadae’s parents, we are seeking the generosity of caring individuals and/or organizations with a giving spirit and desire for children to thrive.
We kindly thank you in advance from the bottom of our hearts!
