Shad Chefs Man Hub Fund

Hello everyone and welcome to our fundraiser to help towards the running costs of Shad Chefs Man Hub.

Shad Chefs Man Hub was set up in memory of a member of the Shadsworth community that we sadly lost to suicide in May 2021. The Man Hub is the final stage of the Suicide Prevention campaign and was launched in February 2022.

We have been running in Blackburn for 6 months and so far have had a steady flow of Men accessing our group every Thursday night. Sometimes we have 5 Men attend the group. Other times we have 15 Men attend the group. Either way, this group is making a difference.

When the group was set up we received help to get funding towards the running costs which included the rent of the room for a year. Other costs include refreshments and days out that we are hoping to put on in the future.

The funding for the room will run out in February. We are hoping that, with the help of this fundraiser, we will have enough to pay the rent on the room for at least another 12 months and also have some leftover to take the lads out on activities.

Male suicides have consistently accounted for approximately three-quarters of all suicides in the UK since the mid-1990s.

With Shad Chefs Man Hub we are aiming to bring these figures down.
