Study Abroad in Japan

Donation protected
HEY EVERYONE! I’m Katherine Mosley and I need you to help me study abroad in Japan!

I am a current sophomore at Columbus State University, majoring in Early Childhood Education. My childhood imaginary classroom during free play has lead me to desire to be an elementary school teacher. Every opportunity that comes my way to work with young children is never rejected. From taking career-based classes about the field of education in highschool for three years to being a very enthusiastic camp counselor at a local park, I am certain my future consists of teaching a class full of first graders about what it takes for a plant to grow.

After a professor came into one of my classes to advertise this study abroad trip, I was immediately intrigued by the once in a lifetime opportunity! CSU is taking a handful of students to explore and study Comparative Education in Japan for 15 days in the summer of 2019 (May 24- June 7). We are going to be introduced to various aspects of the Japanese history, culture, and education. The group will be going on excursions to check out Mount Fuji and Buddhist Zen temples, and we will also participate in a traditional tea ceremony. I am most excited for the visits to local elementary, middle, and high schools. I am so used to the Gwinnett County School System, it makes me wonder what school life is like on the other side of the world!

I would greatly appreciate any help you're willing to give me in this journey!
