Service on Site - Kid's Food Basket

Kids Food Basket (KBC), a grassroots, community solution to childhood hunger in West Michigan, has been selected as our last Convention 2020 Service-on-Site project. KBC began over a decade ago by serving daily meals to 125 kids. Today, KFB provides 8800 students at 52 locations across three Michigan counties Sack Suppers packed by over 250 daily volunteers.
Here’s the twist in this year’s project! Instead of bringing an item to donate, bring your creative skills and or make a small contribution here!
Your contribution will be truly personal and from the heart: you’ll decorate Supper Sacks for future student meals! Decorated bags make meals feel more like a gift rather than a handout. While you put your creative juices to work with supplies we will provide, you’ll hear from Kids Food Basket founder Mary K. Hoodhood, who’s personal story is as inspirational as the organization she created.
What you will need!
Brown or white 6 or 8 lb. (or extra large – Size is 6” wide X 11-12” tall) paper sacks work best (can be purchased at Sam’s Club and GFS Stores in bulk). Please keep in mind that many Sack Suppers will be going to public schools and therefore cannot contain religious or political messages. Please refrain from using paint, glitter, feathers, or stickers.

One child's supper for one year costs $240.00 USD. That's all for one year! Sponsoring a school for one year comes out to $8,000 USD, if every club donated $40.00, Quota International could sponsor a year of meals for a whole school as our first and last Virtual Service on Site!
