I am disabled and Tashi has been my medical service dog for nearly the past 6 years, she turns 6 this month. Her work is priceless, and I rely on her daily for support. She almost died early in the morning this past week and the vet was able to perform lifesaving surgery with a $1000 down payment. In total I owe $5,294.64. I called multiple charities the morning after her surgery that lasted until nearly 6am to see if any could cover even a portion of the remaining 4k. Charities will not help because she already had surgery, they all told me they only help before the surgery is done which was never an option.

Tashi has NEVER eaten anything other than food/treats in her nearly 6 years of life, I have taken her to countless resturants, malls, you name it. A week ago she ingested some yarn while I was taking a nap. I woke up to a long piece of yarn hanging out of her mouth and my heart sunk immediately. I pulled out multiple yards of yarn out of her and prayed to god that was all she ate. The next day I had to take her to the vet, and by that night, her condition worsened and I had make the hard decision have emergency surgery at midnight.

Tashi is the sweetest and does an amazing job as a service dog. She loves what she does, she even offers her support to my friends and alerts to their needs as well, even when the her vest is off. Once her vest is on, she knows it's time to work. Tashi has positively impacted every person she meets, even the vet says she is a good girl. She loves flying and traveling with me to visit my family. She wears her pink ninja suit (seen in the cover photo) to keep her hair to a minimum in case some people may be allergic to her during public access.

I am an independent student in college living on my own with Tashi. I live off of student loans and I have a work study job at the local library. My student aid and work study assignment is just enough money to pay my bills, buy groceries and basic veterinary care.
