Septic shock hospital expenses and home care

Hi, my name is Rachel Espinosa and on the
morning of January 28th at approximately
3:00 A.M I woke up in a sweat with chills, my
whole entire body aching, and a 104 fever. I
was immediately rushed to Memorial West
Hospital and checked into the E.R. where I was
then told I had a minor infection in my bladder
and had been sent home with antibiotics and
Tylenol. I tried explaining the amount of pain my lower back was in to the doctors and that
this had to be more than just a minor infection.
They brushed me off and insisted on sending me home since my Covid test was negative.
The morning after, I woke up in severe pain
with another high fever of 104. My lower back
was in excruciating pain, I couldn’t keep
anything down and I was now peeing blood. At
this point I couldn’t even walk on my own. 
I was rushed to Memorial Miramar Hospital 
where a series of tests were done. My CT scan 
showed inflammation of the kidneys, intestines, and colon. My white blood cell count was 
dangerously high which is when the doctor told 
me the infection spread to my blood stream and I had become septic. It has been a long and
rigorous infection to battle and it’s still not over. Although I am now home, I am receiving “Home health care“, with a daily nurse. I had a “Picc line”
placed into my artery that goes all the way up
my arm and sits next to my heart

possible for my at home nurse to give me meds
and treatments I need. I am so thankful for 
everyones prayers and messages of
encouragement. I have not been to work for
awhile now and I will continue to stay home to
receive “home health care”.
