September Stairclimb

On Sept 19th, 2020 I will be making my second attempt to climb to the top floor-observation deck of the
iconic Harbour Centre building,  29 floors in total with it's fabulous revolving
restaurant, 11 times.
I miscalculated the count last year and I climbed 12 times, so 11 climbs might not be so difficult this year.
That is a total of 319 floors and 6963 steps.

This is to raise money for two charitable organizations;
1) The Vancouver Police Foundation
2) The Canadian Police Memorial Fund

My reasons for attempting such a challenge are to honor those brave men and
women in law enforcement who have lost their lives in the line of duty, which
Canadians remember the last Sunday in Sept as Police Memorial Day  and also
to honor those first responders who lost their lives on Sept 11th, 2001.

The money raised for the Vancouver Police Foundation helps with scholarships for
youth, community events involving the Vancouver Police Department and to cover
things like bullet proof vests for the VPD K-9 squad for our 4 legged furry responders.

The money raised for the Canadian Police Memorial Fund helps families and children
of fallen officers as they carry on without that loved one and source of support.

Afterwards, we are planning a late lunch some some prizes to be held at the top floor
revolving restaurant that has such scenic views our beautiful world class city of
Vancouver, which our Vancouver Police Dept serves and protects with distinction.
