Senior Club COVID-19 Relief Fund

Currently we are offering the delivery of free sanitized senior activity bags and adult craft kits to any senior.

Our GoFundMe purpose is to raise money for our Scholarship Fund and Veteran's Fund as well as supplies. Right now we have a wait list of seniors eager for word on whether we will be able to honor scholarships and also if we will be accepting any new applicants. We also have several families who have been financially effected by this pandemic and will no longer be able to send their elders to The Golden Club. Hopefully we will be able to raise enough funds to open our doors once again and continue our mission (once the social distancing is lifted and it is safe for our seniors to gather). 100% of donations will go towards our scholarship and Veteran programs and supplies.

The Golden Club was created as a safe place for the elderly where new friendships form, companionship and independence are renewed, minds are stimulated and so many laughs are shared. We offer a bright and happy care-free environment geared towards seniors that wish to get out of the house, meet new people, try new experiences, exercise the mind and body, return to old hobbies and perhaps visit interesting places. In order to take some of the burden off family members, The Golden Club can arrange transportation to and from the clubhouse, assist with running errands, trips to doctor appointments, nail and hair appointments, religious services, pharmacy, physical therapy, the grocery store, laundromats etc.

Our mission has always been to tranform and enhance the typical experience at traditional adult day care centers. It has been amazing to see the transformation in seniors that join the club. Often times they arrive depressed or lonely, even angry. Some have lost their independence and purpose in life, are declining coginitvely and most importantly, lack a social community!

The life changing impact of just one week at The Golden Club is undeniable. Seniors become excited about life! Through social connection, arts and crafts, field trips, educational and interactive seminars, exercise and healthy meals, participants begin to feel a sense of purpose, happiness, independence and belonging. Our members show an improvement in posture, memory, movement efficiency and social engagment. Here we believe community is the most important. Ultimately, seeing members arriving and leaving with a smile ear to ear is our greatest achievement.

As you can imagine, Covid-19 has put a screeching halt to everything, as it has for most of the world. As one of the the most vulnerable populations, we must stay closed until it is safe for everyone. Every day we receive phone calls from our Golden Club families about our reopening and the struggles their family faces with their loved ones. It deeply saddens us that we have no answer for a opening date, but we can assure you our mission stays the same and stronger than ever!
