Comfort 'n' Confidence Campaign to support the 2024 Cancer de Mama clinic volunteer efforts

Goal to raise $25,000: I invite you to join us in making a profound impact on breast cancer survivors in Mexico. We have partnered with Cancer de Mama to restore the confidence and dignity of breast cancer survivors without access to comfortable and safe (non-toxic) breast prostheses, after mastectomy.

For every $200 contributed here, Au Naturel Solutions will send a Comfort 'n' Confidence external breast prostheses (valued at $300) to support the 2024 Cancer de Mama mission to supply and fit prostheses for breast cancer survivors in La Penita, Mexico. This mission will support the physical and emotional well-being of survivors while restoring their confidence during their breast cancer journey. Working with donors like you, our goal is to send 100 prosthesis to support the mission.

Why Mexico? Due to a lack of breathable, light-weight, non-silicone prostheses available and high temperatures in Mexico, breast cancer survivors are experiencing lymphedema. As a result, Cancer de Mama reports having to increase their support to include the distribution of compression sleeves for women they’ve seen in prior visits. But this problem can be avoided. Comfort ‘n’ Confidence uses all natural materials and is designed to offer advanced thermoregulation. The materials used are light-weight and breathable, allowing the wearer to remain comfortable without additional weight on or around the lymphatic system which means a faster recovery and return to their day to day activities. Due to these design features and patient benefits, Cancer de Mama has requested the Comfort ‘n’ Confident prosthesis for their next mission.

Hello - I'm Simonne Cormier, the Founder and CEO of Au Naturel Solutions Inc, the creator of Comfort 'n' Confidence, an all-natural material and customizable breast prosthesis that has transformed my life after my own journey with breast cancer.

This year, Au Naturel Solutions was approached by the Cancer de Mama clinic organizers to supply volunteers a number of Comfort ‘n’ Confidence all-natural materials breast prostheses in their efforts to support women of La Penita, Mexico touched by breast cancer.

The Mission: Our mission is twofold: We are dedicated to empowering breast cancer survivors, promoting their confidence and comfort through our innovative solutions in breast prosthetics. Additionally, we are deeply committed to supporting the vital work of the Cancer de Mama clinic in La Penita, Mexico, its volunteers and supporters helping women in their journey through breast cancer recovery and beyond.

Why It Matters: 80% of all breast cancer diagnoses are hormone receptor positive (HR+) which may react negatively to estrogen stimulants found in compounds such as silicone. In her documented research carried out at the University of Prince Edward Island, Dr. Tejal K. Shah, Assistant Professor Department of Physics said “The Comfort 'n' Confidence prosthesis is silicone-free and crafted from all-natural materials, addressing concerns associated with long-term exposure to silicone, endocrine disruption and possibility of skin irritations.”

Natural Feel and Appearance: The prosthesis is light-weight and meticulously designed to closely mimic the natural feel and density of the breast. It integrates seamlessly with the wearer's body, enhancing confidence and comfort in daily activities. The natural materials selected address thermoregulation; this is important in hot climates like Mexico allowing the wearer to remain comfortable, issues relating to skin sensitivities and allergies and most importantly provides a natural drape to clothing building confidence to the wearer.

Positive Mental Impact: Beyond the physical benefits, wearing a prosthesis can have a tremendously positive impact on the emotional and mental well-being of breast cancer survivors. It helps bridge the gap between physical transformation and psychological healing, promoting a positive self-image during the recovery journey.

Social Enterprise: Au Naturel Solutions is a social enterprise that supports women with comfortable, confidence-building, all-natural breast prostheses at home and beyond. We are proud to support the Cancer de Mama mission to Mexico internationally and at home, we donate 5% of all profits to the Canadian Cancer Society in support of their incredible efforts to improve the prevention and treatment of breast cancer in Canada and beyond.
