Hello! I'm Amy Mitchel. Thank you SO much for taking the time to come to my site!


Africa.
Just saying "Africa" makes my heart race. I yearn for the day that I am able to live my dream, being the hands of feet of Jesus in Africa. Whether it is helping in an orphanage, building houses and churches, or proclaiming the Gospel in villages....I want to do it. Believe it or not, I actually want to live there.

I truly believe that God has placed this continent on my heart for a reason and I cannot wait until the day I am able to do so. I have not been able to stop thinking about Africa for the past few months/this past year. I have a HUGE desire to go to there and spread God's love and just simply serve. Ask my friends or family, a typical discussion usually evolves into something about Africa.

One of my best friends and I are considering a trip to Kenya this summer, a 2 month trip with an organization called Passport through Adventures in Missions. A few nights ago as I was discussing the possibility of staying in Africa all summer with my mom, she told me it would be beneficial if I were to take a short trip to Africa before embarking onto a trip for the whole summer. After a few seconds of thinking, my mom said.... "Hey! What about our old church in Orlando?" A few more seconds after that I was on the computer looking up First Baptist Church of Windermere (the church that my family and I attended for about 10 years before moving to Tennessee) and saw that they have a trip planned to Burundi, Africa on March 1-10.


WHAT?!


Yes. I'm going. Hands down.


I then Facebook'd (?) an old Pastor (thanks Troy!) from the church to get the emails of the leaders of the trip. Soon enough, I found myself emailing the Burundi trip leaders saying....TAKE ME WITH YOU!! .....Well, not that ecstatic, but you get the point.


I do hope to go on the 64 day trip to Kenya this summer (I will keep you updated) but as of right now, I am only certain of this trip in March. My heart is so full. My hands are shaking. I am screaming a little bit. I can't believe it! Thank you, Lord, for this amazing opportunity.
