Help Send Our Students To D.C.!
Steuerlich absetzbar
Hello!
We are teachers at Boston Green Academy, a Boston Public School that welcomes a diverse body of students at all ability levels. Every April, our students participate in Project Week. Students won’t be sitting at their desks or rotating between classes. In fact, they won’t be in the school building at all. Instead they’ll be off campus – hiking, biking, cooking, meditating, teaching, dancing, sailing, painting, protecting, exploring, discovering and engaging – with the Greater Boston community and beyond.
This is an opportunity for them to engage in experiential learning *outside of the classroom* and this year we would love to take a group of students to Washington D.C.! This would be an incredible opportunity for them that they would likely not have otherwise. 83% of our students receive free/reduced lunch and a large portion of them have never traveled outside of the state or even the city.
As Humanities teachers, we strive to incorporate civic engagement and social justice themes into our curriculum; this year, the students are exploring the question, "how do we govern ourselves?" What better way to do so than to visit our nation's capital?
Project Week is, by far, the BEST week of school. Please SUPPORT the students of Boston Green Academy to make our D.C. trip a reality!
