Send Pat Healey to NHL-TORONTO LEAFS VS BRUINS

Hi my name is Michelle Goodwin. I’m fund raising to send Patrick Healey on his dream vacation to NHL-TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS VS BOSTON BRUINS OR/& NBA TORONTO RAPTORS VS BOSTON CELTICS (IN BOSTON) DREAM TOUR (FROM NS) through Dream Vacation Tours on April 5, 2023 for a 4 day NHL bus tour!!!!!

Pat Healey is a resident of Hants County NS who is co-owner/reporter of The Laker News. He resides and takes care of his loving mother Heather, 72 years old, with several medical issues and his rescue kitty Princess Asha.

Pat is a genuine, kind, caring and supportive member of his community and beyond. He highlights events such as sports, business anniversaries and celebrations, fundraisers like Tim Hortons Smile cookies, the CIBC Run for the Cure and Grace’s Lemonade for the IWK, local markets, weather phenomenons, Elections, food banks and drives, polar dips, neighbourhood clean ups, local music entertainers, Search and Rescue and Firefighters, pet adoptions where he adopted his furever friend Asha, Fall River and Area Business Association and so, so much more! And let’s not forget, races at Scotia Speed World.

Some of Pat’s more recent notable moments would be during his Covid-19 interview with Premier McNeil and Dr Strang. Premier McNeil thanked Pat for asking how he and Dr. Strang were doing during the pandemic. I was watching this live broadcast and the look that came across the Premier’s face for being cared about and recognized during such stressful uncertain times, in all our lives, was genuine gratification for Pat’s compassion.

One of my most favourite pieces of Pat’s career is how he is always reporting on our local athletes. Especially our rising youth. He doesn’t just interview them! He squeezes into whatever headgear, hockey pad, cleats, acting role, baseball glove and my most favourite where I first met Pat, boxing gloves with Gold belt champions my daughter, Alyssa and Sierra Eshouzade back in 2017!!!!! Pat learns as much as he can in every interview. And he has faced off and sparred with some of the most successful and hard hitter champions of NS. Whether it’s in the Q or on the baseball, hockey, dance, volleyball, Taekwon-Do, soccer world stage Pat is all in!

A few honourable mentions would be (1) when HTB gave Pat the Media Award. (2)Getting the Media Trendsetter Award from Women Active NS. (3)Being selected as a 2019 HRM Volunteer of the Year. Pat does not live in HRM so an exception had to be made for his volunteering and going above the job to help communities.

Patrick works above and beyond to cover stories all over his and surrounding communities. I thought it would be nice to give a little back and send him on this dream vacation to watch the NHL TML vs BB in Toronto.
