Send me to help St Croix USVI

Requesting funds to help with my travel and supply costs as I make trips to St Croix USVI to bring hurricane relief supplies and stay for a few days each time to help with clean up.   I lived on St Croix in 1995-1996, I return every year or two to visit friends and favorite places on the island, I got engaged to my wife of 14 years on the island,  and I plan to retire on the island (no sooner than 2020)... in short, it is my 2nd hometown.    As luck would have it, I and in between jobs and have the time to put forth some real and personal effort to help my Crucian friends while still taking care of my own family in Colorado.

  Flights cost about $650 round trip, a good high volume water purification system (Lifestraw 12L bag) costs about $120, a small chainsaw costs about $350, food costs less in the states than in the USVI.   I will be directly helping friends (Bobby Rohing and the Staff from the Grotto, Sam Halverson and Michelle from Dive Experience, Ed and Mollie Buckley) and friends of these and other friends.   I can't say exactly who will get all the supplies I bring or where I'll be helping but my goal is to whatever I can, wherever  help is needed for as long as I can.    

 I will provide updates on my activities and the stories of the people I help so that you can see what is being done with any funds you direct my way.   If you are not comfortable donating directly to me for this self directed effort... by all means please donate to the Red Cross or other agencies directly providing relief to St Croix and the USVI.
