Send Avalon Academic Decathlon Team to Nationals!

The Avalon School Academic Decathlon (AD) team won their 6th consecutive State Championship and has made it to the National Tournament in Pittsburgh, PA in April! The team seeks your support to fund their travel and accommodations at Nationals. Our team of 8 dedicated decathletes and coaches have worked so hard, so we are asking for your generosity to help them represent Minnesota proudly at Nationals! Any funds raised beyond the travel goal will go to purchasing supplemental study materials for the 2024-25 Avalon AD team.

For those not familiar, the United States Academic Decathlon competitions consist of 7 tests across a variety of subjects, including math, science, economics, art, music, literature, and history, around the 2024 theme of Technology and Humanity; plus an essay contest choosing from among 3 topics; a 7-minute interview meant to prepare the students for future interviews they will encounter; a 4-minute prepared speech on a topic of the decathlete's choosing and a 2-minute impromptu speech they are only given 1-minute to get ready for!
