Penniman House Fire - Seeking Joy
Donation protected
Emily and Darby Penniman of New York were enjoying a Saturday afternoon with their two-year-old daughter, Joy, the last weekend in September. When they arrived home, fire trucks were already there trying to put the fire out. Their home caught fire due to a faulty appliance. This was a total loss to their home. Their two cats and one dog perished in the fire as well. The young family lost everything.
They are supported by family and friends right now, and have a long way to go to regain some type of normalcy. When I asked my long-time friend Emily if I could start this campaign as one way I could help her from afar (I live in Maine, where we met as children), she told me anything would help tremendously and that she promised to "pay it forward." She said several times they intend to pay forward the generosity they are receiving right now. I know they will do just that. They are two of the most hard working, devoted, and caring people you will ever meet.
Please consider donating, any amount is helpful to them in this process of getting back on their feet. They are in need of immediate things - diapers, clothing, toiletries, bedding, toys, jackets, etc. in addition to things that we may not consider like eye glasses, shoes, and keys to their cars. Eventually they will be working on a home.
All of the funds raised through this campaign will go directly to the family so they can rebuild their lives after this terrible tragedy. They are grateful to be unharmed and still together, grieving the loss of their pets, and trying their best to move forward.
Thank you in advance for your support.
Sincerely,
