Help WildSeed Water New Seeds of Capacity

Donation protected
The WildSeed Society is a radical, BIPOC-based, Black-led organization that seeks to build portals to the future where we all go free. It builds these portals by supporting movements at the intersection of social transformation, spiritual liberation and economic revolution. Our core program, Revolutionary Aftercare, focuses on building a healing infrastructure to complement our existing fighting infrastructure so that movements can be sustainable and grounded in the ways of the worlds that we want.

Like many of you, these past few years have slowly devastated our collective capacity. From the pandemic, to the rise of the Trumpian right, to the George Floyd uprising, we have found ourselves constantly pushed beyond our limits just trying to get our friends and comrades joyfully alive and out of jail.

While we are glad to have succeeded in that goal, we have also come to realize that this work just isn’t sustainable for a small team. This is doubly true given our mental and physical health challenges as a group of neuro-divergent folks. So we spent the winter of 2022 regrounding in vision and rethinking our strategy in light of those facts.
We realized that in order to keep supporting movements for a better world, particularly by expanding our core program of Revolutionary Aftercare , we were going to have to expand our staff. As it stands now, we are a team that mostly focuses on programs and developing our own spiritual practice. We don’t have many of the basic back office support that is crucial to the kind of work that we do.

You can learn more about what we have been up to on our website here .

Thus, in the spirit of spring and new beginnings, we wanted to reach out to our community and ask for your support in watering some seeds of infrastructure that we hoped to plant. Specifically, we are asking our community for support raising $40K to help us work with four different contractors that will support us in preparing to expand our capacity.

1) Operations
We are currently working with Alexis Goggans from Be-Bold Services who is supporting us in getting our administrative house in order. With Alexis’ support, we have created and implemented policies and procedures that help us make principled, effective decisions that we can actually remember! We are especially excited to get support creating some HR policies that will allow us to provide a supportive, accountable, healing centered and trauma-informed culture for our new hires.

2) Communications
We are excited to be supported by the amazing Leslie Mac who is going to help us with our communication strategy – including a podcast! - so that we can better communicate our vision to our community. We are especially excited to work with Leslie to figure out how we can create more clear and accessible on-ramps for you to get into deeper collaborative and supportive relationships with us and the WildSeed Way.

3) Fundraising
Lastly, we are looking forward to working with Michelle Muri at Freedom Conspiracy to help develop a more robust fundraising strategy. We are hoping to hire a director of operations, a director of care and administrative support in the next year. As you can imagine, it’s going to take more than a Go-fundMe to make that financially possible and sustainable. With Michelle’s help, we hope to create a values aligned, community-based sustainability strategy for our work.

Any additional funds raised will go towards hiring administrative staff sooner, Revolutionary Aftercare and general support for the organization**

Thank you so much for your support!
