The Secwepemc people are living on their unceded territory along the Secwepemcetkwe (Thompson River) proposed Trans Mountain Pipeline route. Under the authority of the Secwepemc hereditary leadership and Elders council, the Secwepemc are asserting their rights and title and standing up for clean water, wild salmon, and future generations to stop TMX.

In a year with record low salmon population, TMX crown corporation intends to drill underneath the Thompson River and lay pipe to carry toxic diluted bitumen from Edmonton, AB to Burnaby BC. Half of the pipeline route crosses through Secwepemc Territory and the project has received no consent from the Secwepemc Nation. This is an act of genocide and is an intention by the federal government to divide the Secwepemc people, enact violence against women, inhibit our cultural practices and increase our dependency on private corporations for food and water. We and our animal relatives depend on clean water and healthy salmon for our livelihood. The Secwepemc say NO TMX.

We can not do it alone. It will take everyone to stop this pipeline and ensure the integrity of our environment in the face of the climate crisis. It is time to stand up and fight for our land. This is your act of reconciliation. Donate now to support us as we occupy our territory and practice our ceremony to stop the TMX pipeline.

We are in constant need of food, water and supplies that can withstand the elements. Wind storms, changing water levels, and abuse from RCMP and the powers that wish to see the pipeline built are just some of the forces that we are up against.
