Secure The Bag Safety Program

The Secure the Bag Safety program was created in August of 2020 to help protect the live of T/GNC/Non-Binary people, prioritizing BIPOC first, as a direct response and result of the violence/attacks happening in the United States. In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, a recorded 43 T/GNC/Non-Binary folx were killed in the U.S., the vast majority BIPOC and this is NOT a comprehensive recording. As the number of violent attacks continue to rise against the T/GNC/Non-Binary community, it is imperative that we increase our awareness, be vigilant and protect our person.

Secure the Bag Safety hopes ensure that T/GNC/Non-Binary communities feel safer while simply walking to your destination. As a purely volunteer based program, Secure the Bag Safety is committed to meeting community members where they're at, be it in your neighborhood or at an action item like a protest, march or rally.

The Secure the Bag Safety program will focus on providing T/GNC/Non-binary folx with safety kits and other tools, like self-defense training, teaching us how to protect ourselves. It is no secret that funds are needed to purchase safety kits and/or host self-defense training and that's were YOU come in. Whether you can donate funds, purchase kits or you're able and willing to teach a self-defense training class, any assistance will be greatly accepted.
