On September 5th hurricane Irma hit St. Maarten as a category 5 storm. It was the largest hurricane to ever form in the Atlantic destroying everything in its path.
My wife Abigail is currently a second year medical student at The American University of The Caribbean which is located in St Maarten. Our family has lived on the island for over a year and it has become a second home to us. We were lucky enough to be in the US when the hurricane hit. The island is now completely decimated with all of our belongings and vehicles. What was not destroyed by the storm will be looted. And now it is predicted that another hurricane will be hitting the island on Sunday casuing even more damage.
With only a suitcase to our name, my family and I will have to start from scratch. We are asking for help to replace what was lost in the storm. All donations are appreciated.
