I've never been terribly good at asking for help, but as some of you may know, I am an epileptic. Sharing my story is difficult as there are stigmas with those who suffer from epilepsy. I've been blessed to be seizure free for the past 7 years.

My seizures started when I was a child and as I got older, they subsided. Unfortunately, on Monday, December 18th, I had what is called a Tonic Clonic (Grand Mal) Seizure. In the US, there are fewer than 200,000 cases per year.

On any other Monday, at the time of my seizure, I would have been on highway 494, driving home from class. Instead, I was fortunate enough to have been in the safety and comfort of my own living room, as well as having my mom arriving home only ten minutes after it started. This alone, we consider our family's best Christmas present.

The bad news, other than having a seizure, is the medical expenses associated with adult neurology and future care. I have created a GoFundMe page in an effort to assist with some of these costs. Any contributions will be greatly appreciated.
