Scott Family - Flood Damage Relief

On the morning of Sunday, May 17, my parents woke to find their basement had begin to flood entirely, with sewer water coming up thru the floor drains, and ended up with 6 inches of standing sewer water. 

As this was a result of a city sewer line backing up for an entire block, they filed a claim with the city, asking to help mitigate some of the cost over their insurance coverage for damages done to their home and belongings.

The Town of Normal and their insurance company city denied the claim, citing the excessive rain flow was an act of God and they could not be held liable under the Illinois Tort Law. While receiving this news, they also received the clean-up and restoration estimates.

I am reaching out on behalf of my parents for support as they have been tasked with picking up the bill and financially strained to replace the damaged items and memories lost during the flood.
