We created this GoFundMe to make our dream come true.
To be the first football team sponsored by Reddit!
We are a developing club located in Terceira Island, Azores, Portugal.
Due to our location, finding a sponsor can be incredibly challenging, that sometimes requires great imagination.
As a redditor myself, I know firsthand the /r/soccer community love for the sport, for the dreams that come true and all the passion it creates.
This GoFundMe was created with the aim to gathering funds to continue doing exactly that.
We need funds to continue developing our athletes at all levels, from young kids who barely fit in a football shoe, to our senior squad, who want to be promoted.
Our sponsorship renewal is coming up, and we need to find a new sponsor during July, and I believe, /r/soccer could be that sponsor.
To sponsor our team for an entire season would cost about 10,000 euros, this would cover most of our expenses and allow the club to focus solely on competing and trying to get a historical promotion.
Last season we made it so far in the Portuguese Cup that we ended up playing against Sporting Lisbon, where we scored this beautiful goal:
