Sawyers' Journey: Amputations Suck! Aid for Recovery
Donation protected
Hello everyone,
As some of our family and friends may know, a year ago, our lives took an unexpected turn when my husband was diagnosed with a severe blood infection. This infection led to the amputation of his big toe, and soon after, the rest of his toes on his right foot followed. Despite our best efforts, the infection continued to spread, resulting in a revision amputation that took even more bone from his right foot. As of now, we are still battling lingering wounds and the foot has not fully healed. Thankfully, the bone infection is gone, but the need for my husband to stay off his foot has kept him out of work on and off for the past year.
Recently, we faced a new challenge when an abscess developed on his left foot. Fortunately, we caught it in time, and the doctors believe they have the infection under control without needing further amputations. We are currently in the hospital, waiting for the biopsy results, and my husband will be sent home with a PICC line for antibiotics to continue his healing process. His doctors have advised that he must remain completely off his feet for at least the next three months, which means he will be out of work once again.
I am working as often as I can, but I make significantly less than him, and I have missed a lot of work between his hospitalizations, ongoing Dr appointments, working around my daughter's health and school schedule, as well as my own recent surgery and recovery (hernia repair).
Due to these ongoing medical challenges, we are struggling to keep up with rent and bills. We are reaching out for your support to help us through this difficult time. Any contribution, big or small, will make a significant difference in our lives and help us stay afloat while my husband heals.
I can also take donations on cashapp or venmo, or Facebook pay
Cashapp: $dragonfly41489
Venmo: @Michelle-Rose-41489
How your donation will help our family:
- Catch up on rent and bills. We are behind in both our monthly rent as well as our utilities
- Any medical expenses not covered by insurance, such as medications, wound care supplies, etc.
-Day to day needs, such as food and gas
**Should we be so blessed to exceed our goal amount, donations will go toward helping provide christmas presents for our daughter. With the holidays being 2 months away, the lack of funds to foreseeably afford presents for her has also weighed heavy on our hearts.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness and generosity. We will keep our audience updated on our healing journey.
Warm regards,
The Sawyers
