Help Save Chelsea from Lyme

I'm starting this campaign to try to save the life of my 24 year old daughter Chelsea Williams-White who is suffering from Lyme disease here in our small apartment in Seattle, Washington.  Although just recently diagnosed with Lyme, Chelsea was apparently infected at around age 10 by a tick bite during a camping trip and has spent the last 14 years of her life slowly disintegrating starting with constant pain, nonstop nausea and crushing fatigue and moving on to add intense unending headaches, swollen painful joints, bone and muscle pain, skin (nerve) pain, brain fog that required her to quit school, difficulty breathing that makes it impossible for her to carry a load of laundry up a flight of stairs, difficulty seeing, trouble hearing, and a host of other debilitating symptoms you can read about if you research Lyme.  (Lyme offers it's victims a kalidescope of symptoms that change and rotate as the bacteria burrow deeper into the brain, heart, muscles, connective tissue, joints, skin, organs and glands.)  Perhaps the most difficult of all being the emotional pain of having her life reduced to nothing but the space of her queen sized bed where she spends much of her time with her chihuahua Bo, simply enduring the life she's required to live and at times wishing fervently for it to end. 
The funds we raise will go to pay for Lyme treatment (which is never covered by health insurance in the US and is estimated to take 5 years at a cost of  $15,000-20,000+ per year) and therapy with a therapist experienced with helping people suffering from chronic disease find the will to continue the difficult path they've been dealt.
Even as a small kid Chelsea was a hard worker, independent and a fighter.  This is the kid who would copy her homework 3 times every night to be sure it was perfect,  who was a straight A student who loved school and learning, who when learning to ice skate refused to leave the ice no matter how many times she wiped out and crashed to the ground, the kid who worked 3 jobs as a teen so she could have the money to go to the music festivals she loved, the kid who has watched the lives of everyone around her go forward while her aspirations for a college degree, world travel, a career, a family, a home and a future move out of reach and become unthinkable, unattainable.
With her spirit so achingly defeated our first priority is getting her immediate support from an excellent therapist we've identified who has been successful working with patients facing a life time of chronic pain and illness.   She especially needs theraputic support as she begins the Lyme treatment regime which intensifies the symptoms at first.  As the Lyme bacteria die they emit toxins that cause a huge uptick in nausea, pain, swelling, fatigue and neurological symptoms.
Although teatment is daunting and even worse than the actual disease symptoms, it offers us hope we've never had that she can improve and regain some quality of life.  Your donation is especially meaningful because Chelsea and I are alone on this journey without family who can offer support.  Thank you for reading our story, for making a donation and for your kind prayers.
