Save the Wood House

The 1875 Wood House in Bayside is only five years younger than the Fulton Mansion in nearby Fulton, TX.
For years, the Wood House has been a point of pride for the small community of Bayside. People from all over have visited the house for its history and majesty.
But Hurricane Harvey dealt a heavy blow to the structure on Aug. 25, and sadly it is leaning.
I have managed to get the attention of the Texas Historical Commission and it may fund restoration planning, but we will need much more for restoration construction.
The owner of the Wood House has no money to invest in the structure, so I (Tim Delaney), chair of the Bayside Historical Society, am trying to organize fundraising for Wood House repair.
The funds are needed for what I call the first stage: any foundation repair, straighten structure and a new roof.
The community, as well as Refugio County, will be forever grateful for any donations, and personally, I would be honored to continue working to save the structure, and I am not wanting anything for the effort.
So please contribute to help this invaluable, irreplaceable piece of Texas history, Refugio County history and Bayside history.
