Help save this historic landmark! -- The Sedgefield Showgrounds has been an integral part of the community for over 90 years and has touched the lives of countless patrons from all over the world!
The integrity and sanctity of this local treasure are currently under attack. This landmark, where for nearly a century folks have learned to ride, grown in their riding skills, and put their talents on display in competitions, has now caught the eye of a developer who would like to turn the showgrounds into an apartment mega-site with 220 units!
Places such as the Sedgefield Showgrounds, with deep rooted history and historical significance, deserve to be protected. Developers should not be able to swoop in and erase the history so many of you have been a part of creating.
The Greensboro Zoning Commission has already moved the developer's proposal along. The City Council will vote on it March 17, 2020.
We, the community members and Sedgefield Showgrounds supporters, must make our voice heard. Please join us by donating today.
Our mission is to preserve, protect, and improve upon the Sedgefield Showgrounds.
We are in the process of hiring legal counsel to stop this development and protect this important piece of history. Funds will be used exclusively for legal fees and outreach efforts related to saving the Sedgefield Showgrounds.
