Pollie has been my canine companion since his birth six years ago and those who follow my YouTube channel have known him all his life as well. Pollie has been with me through the stressful, radical changes in residency and human partnership I've experienced. He's one of the few anchors I can turn to for stability in my everyday. Unfortunately, he's now suffered a medical emergency and is (as I write this) hospitalized with stones in his bladder. The emergency treatment he's received so far - in draining fluid, testing blood and urine samples, having a catheter and IV for a few days - is being estimated minimally at $2,300 and it's likely he'll require surgery on top of that. I've set an initial goal of $3,000 for this fundraiser, because I suspect Pollie's medical work will be at least that much and possibly considerably more. For me, it is the equivalent of two to three months skunk work or a whole season of rattlesnake mitigation. I don't have the funds available and am borrowing in the short-term to get him taken care of. I'm hoping that those who've been interested in supporting my work with wildlife will allow me to call on that assistance now to save my friend.
