Save Our Ponds
Donation protected
We are fundraising for Save Our Ponds - a new campaign to keep access to the bathing ponds on Hampstead Heath free from compulsory charging by the City of London Corporation (CoLC)
The campaign was launched in July 2020 when the ponds re-opened from Covid19 lockdown with compulsory fees of £4.00 (£2.40 concession) per swim – an increase of 100% (150%) on previous voluntary donations.
Save Our Ponds is a campaign by Forum ’71 – a bold independent initiative run by volunteers. The Forum takes its’ name from the Hampstead Heath Act of 1871 which defines the Heath as a public open space ‘that should forever remain unenclosed’.
All money raised will go to cover the essential running costs of the campaign such as a website, publicity materials, creative direct action events, and administration and communications.
We thank everyone who can give support to this campaign and appreciate your generosity at this time of economic uncertainty.
