Vernal Theatre: LIVE has welcomed thousands to downtown Vernal in the last six years. A historic landmark of Vernal’s downtown, the theatre marquee is recognizable to citizens of the area who have seen it for decades and an icon of the past. In restoring the theatre, work has been done inside, including updated lighting and sound and even redoing the walls. Now it is time that we take our work to the building front.

Downtown Vernal has fluctuated over the last several years. One thing that has stayed the same is Vernal Theatre: LIVE’s impact on downtown and our community. Each year, more than 30% of those participating in theatre events are new to the theatre and participating for the first time. Main Street becomes packed with cars as patrons attending the theatre in the evenings first visit downtown restaurants for a meal before the show. The families who attend the theatre are learning what a fantastic thing the Arts are – families come closer together, teenagers & children have positive outlets and a place to be, and impactful lessons are internalized through storytelling and watching other community members be brave.

Vernal Theatre: LIVE is a place where we remind people who feel let down, overwhelmed, alone and exhausted that there is real hope, joy and peace. Whether through the right show, meeting someone new who becomes your best friend and support – every day, Vernal Theatre: LIVE is more than a theatre, it’s a community. A place to call home, a play to come together, laugh and encourage one another.

Vernal Theatre: LIVE has succeeded and grown these last six years because of support from our community. If just 1,000 people donate $15 – we will reach our goal and be able to complete our marquee renovation fully. It will make a difference not just for the economy for downtown but for your family and other families who need this place.

This project is more than just a sign update. This investment becomes a significant step forward in continuing to revitalize downtown and our historic Main Street. It provides an opportunity to boost the Arts downtown as patrons see that we continue to grow and have a community focus, and it also builds opportunities for making Main Street a place we all want to be.
