Quick Update 9/13/25

Lola had her surgery on Sept 9. Unfortunately, the doctors found that her liver mass is inoperable it’s too risky to remove. They did take a sample and sent it to the lab, and the doctor feels it may be benign (we’ll know for sure within a week).

The good news is that Lola is home, recovering well, and acting like her happy self. My goal now is to give her the best quality of life possible.

My name is Thelma, and I am a veterinary technician, I am fundraising to cover the costs of Lola’s urgent medical care her surgery costs is estimated to be $5,000. Lola isn’t just a dog to me, she is my everything. Twelve years ago, my mom gave Lola to me as a gift. What I didn’t realize then was how much she would become one of the most important things in my life. When my mom passed away, Lola became my connection to her, a piece of her love still here with me. She has been my family, my comfort, and the heart of my home every single day since.

Now, Lola is facing a critical health issue of her life. She was recently diagnosed with a baseball-sized liver mass. The vet has recommended an urgent CT scan to determine if the mass has spread (metastasized) before surgery can even be attempted. Without these critical next steps, I don’t know how much longer I will have with her.

The reality is, the costs of these scans and surgery are overwhelming. As much as I work and try to provide, I cannot afford these expenses on my own. It breaks my heart to even have to ask, but I know Lola deserves every chance at more time, more mornings where she greets me with her wagging tail, more nights where she curls up beside me, more years of love and companionship that I can’t imagine living without.

Lola’s love doesn’t just stop with me. She brings joy to everyone who meets her. At my job, all my coworkers adore her. They dance with her, spoil her with treats, and say she brings a sense of peace and stress relief to their day. My family and friends love her too, often taking her out on trips and walks because spending time with Lola makes life brighter. She has this gift of making people feel loved, calm, and happy just by being herself.

Lola has given me unconditional love, joy, and strength through every season of life. Now, she needs me to fight for her and I’m asking for your help to make that possible. Every donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward her CT scan, her surgery, and the care she needs to get through this.
