My name is Shakeena, and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for help for my sweet puppy, Loki.

Back in August, Loki, who will be just 4 months old on the 17th, broke his knee. At the time, we did what we could with the resources available to us. Unfortunately, the initial vet facility was not equipped to manage his care properly, and they were unable to change his cast due to a lack of equipment. As a result, we’ve now discovered that Loki’s leg has not healed properly, and worse, it's become infected.

We just found this out yesterday, and now Loki urgently needs to be hospitalized on Monday for updated X-rays and treatment to determine next steps. Effective treatment will prevent complications that could lead to leg amputation, which we do not want for Loki.

To make matters even more difficult, our pet insurance won’t cover the costs, as the accident occurred during the 30-day waiting period, classifying it as a pre-existing condition.

This has all been an unexpected and overwhelming situation. The total cost for Loki's upcoming care is $888.12, not including the $1,540.37 paid initially when he broke his knee, so I’m turning to the community, especially fellow pet lovers, pet moms, and dads, for any help you can provide. Every dollar counts, and even a small contribution can make a huge difference for Loki’s future.

Loki is such a sweet and strong little pup, and he deserves the chance to grow up happy and healthy. Your kindness and support mean the world to both of us.
