Save FlightSchool Gymnastics

In 2003, a dream was hatched to provide a high quality gymnastics training facility with exciting, progressive and positive training methods. FlightSchool Gymnastics Center was founded in the summer of '03 by Phil and Lynette Sappington.  They began with 13 founding members. With the help of the parents of those 13 girls, they began the work that would get our new gym up and running. In our first year of operation our dream grew quickly to 125 students and has shown steady growth to this day. We have had numerous State and Sectional Champions as well as Regional and National Competitors. FlightSchool continues to grow and improve with every passing year and our Team continues to improve as we work to our goal of National Champions and College Scholarships. In 2006 our first Graduating Seniors took their gymnastics to College, competing for Seattle Pacific and MIT.  Today, our Alumni have spread far and wide, competing at colleges and universities throughout the United States.

Sadly, with the Covid-19 closures, FlightSchool's classes have been dropped to zero students. The competition team and our developmental students were not allowed to practice for months during the first closure. And now again with this second closure. These closures have pushed FlightSchool to the breaking point. With this lack of income, FlightSchool has been forced to lay off 24 staff members since March.

Currently FlightSchool is unable to pay their lease on the building they occupy and keep up on the operating expenses.  These children who call FlightSchool their second home rely on the consistency of FlightSchools fun and loving coaches and atmosphere. They need us just as much we need them.  The loss of FlightSchool to the community would mean the loss of a refuge from the instability and uncertainty of our current world. It would mean the loss of many gymnastics dreams. Young people need this desperately to come back too.
