Everyone deserves a good education!

This past spring break I made the decision to live and work at a homeless program through the non-profit organization, New York City Urban Project (NYCUP). 

This summer NYCUP is teaming up with the organization Operation Exodus Inner City. Their mission includes promoting educational achievement and leadership skills to the young Latino community in Washington Heights. I have landed an internship with this partnership and have the opportunity to help! I will be helping these children review their school material, prepare them for the upcoming school year, and give them a new and positive outlook on education.

We often cannot help but believe that there is nothing we can do for these children. They are already 3 to 5 grade levels behind in their studies, attend schools with a sub 40% graduation rate, all in combination to their life in poverty. But I am telling you that Operation Exodus is really making an impact. There are countless stories of childrens' lives being completely transformed through this organization. It is never too late to make a difference and WE have the opportunity to do just that!

In order for this to happen I will need to fundraise $2500. Your donation will help NYCUP and Operation Exodus continue their mission in serving others. I know we all struggle financially but I just ask you to give these kids a second chance in school. Their surroundings tell them that they are not good enough and will never succeed. EVERYONE deserves a good education and a fair chance at life. You can make that happen! Even if you can donate a single dollar or simply just share this message, I will be forever grateful to you.
