Collins Equestrian is a very popular equestrian centre in Lixnaw, Co. Kerry. Set up & run by Laura Collins, not only is it an equestrian centre but it is a safe, social and supportive community for people of all ages. A second home to hundreds of young riders, is facing imminent closure due to planning retention issues.

Laura is an incredibly hard working young woman who has many titles: a mother, a kerry county camogie player and an incredibly dedicated riding instructor. The dedication of Laura, who has poured her heart into building Collins Equestrian and teaching children, is at risk of being lost forever.

Laura is a huge asset to the local equestrian community, she has trained many young riders to national level and even has had students make the IPC Irish Eventing team.

Unfortunately Collins Equestrian has had difficulties obtaining retention of its current facilities, despite the retention application already costing thousands of hard earned money in an attempt to resolve the situation.

A number of changes must now happen to the yard in order to reapply for retention of these facilities. This go fund me will help with the costs of yard changes, the reapplication for planning/retention which will hopefully help in our bid for Collins Equestrian to continue and remain for many years to come!

This isn't just about saving a business; it's about preserving a community hub that nurtures talent and provides an invaluable service to our area. If Collins Equestrian is forced to close it will have a devastating effect on both the physical and mental health of both the current students of the equestrian centre, and future generations of young people in the area who will benefit from what Collins Equestrian offers.

We cannot let this happen without putting up a fight. It is time for us to offer the support back to Laura of Collins Equestrian that she so effortlessly offers to everyone else.
