Sasha Brannan

Hi my name is Corrine Olson, I heard from a dear friend of mine (Carol Brannan) a few days ago with some very sad news. She had just found out that her granddaughter Sasha Brannan has Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.
I have been friends with the Brannan family for 34 years. I love this family!! Dave, Carol & their children are some of the best people I have ever met. Carol ran a daycare business out of her home for forty years & Dave just retired from being a butcher at the local grocery store for 42 years. They are hard working, family oriented people & have a deep faith. Active members at the Assembly of God church. Carol & Daves son Josh had recently made the decision to move his family back to Grayling where he grew up. Josh and his wife Alina are separated at this time. Alina lives in Colorado and plans on traveling back and forth during Sasha’s treatments. They have a 6 year old son Bentley & a 4 year old daughter Sasha. Josh is working at Otsego County Park as a lead park ranger. He is excited about his job but he just started 6 days ago!!
As a parent to hear the news your child is sick with Leukemia is devastating. Then you think about how you want to be there for them as they are going to undergo some difficult procedures & treatments. Fear & anxiety are magnified. You can imagine how overwhelming this must be. Here is what we currently know about what the plan is for Sasha’s care.
She will have to get treatments for 3 years. She had her port placed yesterday and her chemo is starting right now. She has been very sick for the last few days but today she finally started to feel a little better. She has had a blood transfusion but will get many more. She gets chemo for a week and hopefully they will be able to come back to Grayling for a week or so before her next admission. She is very very immune compromised so no more school for her this year. She will have monthly sedation to get a lumbar puncture/bone marrow biopsy and chemo put into her spinal column. It’s going to be a long 3 years.
I am hoping that some of you may feel inclined to help with a donation on gofundme. Any amount big or small will be appreciated beyond measure & be so helpful to Josh. Thoughts and prayers are with this sweet little girl & her loving family.
Thank you in advance
